I've worked on a diverse range of subjects and formats from comedic TV pilots to music videos to dramatic shorts to presidential campaign projects and everything in between. I especially love to work directly with writers, comedians, musicians and other creative people to bring their projects to life. I have a special place in my heart for female forward productions and I bring an exuberant and loving energy to each project I work on.

based out of Brooklyn, NY

All above footage was shot and lit by me! (Neat, huh?)

Festivals and awards

Most of the projects I have worked on have been accepted into multiple film festivals, some winning awards! (How exciting, right?)

What People Are Saying

"I had the pleasure of working with Katy Frame on my last short film, and I can't recommend her enough as a cinematographer. Katy's extensive knowledge of filmmaking is truly impressive, and it shines through in the final product. What sets her apart is her ability to listen to your ideas and bring them to life while offering valuable guidance along the way. Katy is not just a cinematographer; she's a connector who can introduce you to the right people to enhance your project. I'm grateful for her involvement in my last film, and I'm sure you will be too!

— Eleni Athena - Producer of short “You’re Going to be Fine"”

"One of my favorite - of many great aspects of working with Katy - is her ownership of the work. She was DP on my second short grist. Along with being responsive and critically collaborative in pre-production and on set, she was available and extremely helpful in post - so much so that I hired her as DP and Editor for my third short, which is currently in pre-production."

— Shannon Harris - Writer, Director, Producer of short film “Grist”

"Katy is a joy to work with. From pre-production, to working on set, all the way through post, Katy brings a consistent professionalism and a keen artistic vision that makes her an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. I have recommended her to countless friends and colleagues and will continue to recommend her to anyone else who will listen."

— Brian Gurien - Director of pilot “Extended Warranty”

"I met Katy working on several performance videos where she was either the director or the director of photography. When prepping my own short film (The Big Gun) Katy's expertise, knowledge, and technical mastery made her my first choice to be the DP and editor of the film. On set, Katy was super-organized and professional. Her commitment to the project, as well as her communication and leadership skills, made the shoot lively and productive for the entire cast and crew.

As editor, she is open to ideas and delivers results, meeting deadlines and shaping the story. As director, DP, and/or editor Katy has a clear vision of the projects she works on and is an asset to any film set!"

— Jon Spano - Writer, Producer of short film “The Big Gun”

"Katy shot and edited my first self-produced short film and the finished product is better than I could have imagined! She uses her sharp instincts and supportive nature to facilitate your artistic vision. Her mix of preparedness, endurance, and ability to pivot during inevitable hiccups on set prove invaluable to your shoot. And her "Sure, I can do that" approach to editing makes it seem like magic. I assume I won't be able to collaborate with Katy on every single future project, but I hope I'm wrong about that."

— Jim DeProphetis - Writer, Producer of short film “The Setup”

“Katy Frame is an “Actor’s” filmmaker. On every project that I have had the joy of working with her on, she has the ability to meet actors where they are and communicate effectively to the heart of their emotion. Not only that, but her personal understanding of an actors' perspective provides a beautiful platform of support for anyone looking to become a filmmaker…experienced or otherwise! .”

— Paulina Knaak - Writer of short film “Caught” & pilot “Unsustainable”

“Katy was super professional, affordable, and was terrific to work with. She elevated my student project to another level and was an invaluable part of the process.”

— Sean Pollock - Writer, Producer of pilot “Extended Warranty”
